The Term 4 program is ready for enrolments.
New courses for Term 4 include three programs in Anglesea:
- DNA and the Future (3 week short course) – Dr Bill Shaw
- Knowing and Growing Wildflowers (2 field trips and 2 learning sessions) – presented by ANGAIR members
- Occasional Lecture: Professor Christian Jakob, Weather predictions – current and future climate research
You can also join a field trip to the Airey’s Inlet lighthouse in November.
Special events in Torquay include a presentation of John Clarke’s poetry and prose by well known actress Maggie Millar, a Trivia afternoon run by Tim Robinson, and a special Get Online: The Joy of Computers day designed to build up confidence in using the internet. You can also Improve your Computer Skills at Torquay by signing up for individual and small group sessions throughout the term.
The Term 4 series of Cinema Studies will focus on Music in Film. Conversations in History returns with a wide range of history talks; Armchair Politics will look at political issues since 1975; and the Drawing group will expand to become The U3A Art Group.
Survival French returns to the program while Creative Wrtiing, Mah Jong, Continuing French, Non-Fiction Readers, Tai Chi, Yoga, Mindfulness and Philosophy, Cryptic Crosswords and Cafe Italiana will continue. Members do not need to re-enrol in ongoing classes, but should let us know if you do not plan to take up your place in Term 4.
You can enrol online at any time. A special Enrolment morning will be held from 10.00 – 12 noon on Friday 12 October at the U3A office, 16 Price Street Torquay.
