The University of the Third Age is open to people who have reached their ‘third age’ – usually this means that you are retired or semi-retired and you are over 50 years of age.
U3A members take out an annual membership and then you can enrol in any class or lecture if there is a place available, and subject to Tutor interview if specified. To become a member, you can join online or you can pick up and complete an enrolment form at Torquay Community House, 14 Price Street Torquay during school term. Please note, you must have an email address to use the online facilities.
Once you become a member you can go to Members Log In at any time to join additional classes, check class times or venues., renew your membership or update your details. You need your member ID and password to log in. If you have forgotten your password, enter your email address ad click in ‘forgot password’ and a re-set password link will be emailed to you.
Membership is per calendar year and must be renewed each year.

How to join or renew your membership
Joining or renewing online
Once you have signed up for classes, you should pay your annual subscription within 10 working days to activate your membership. You can pay by using one of the following methods:
- By cheque made out to U3A SurfCoast Incorporated,
and mailed to U3A SurfCoast, P.O. Box 976, Torquay, VIC, 3228, or
- In person at Torquay Community House, 14 Price Street Torquay, during the school term from Monday to Thursday between 9.00 am and 3.30 pm, or at the U3A office at 16 Price Street Torquay on Fridays between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon.
